Brings THE $20 FIX to Person County!
The Person County Animal Coalition for THE $20 FIX is a newly formed group of concerned citizens that has raised $10,000 to launch THE $20 FIX in Person County.
85-90% of the animals brought to Person County's shelter are euthanized to make room for more, and the number of incoming animals increases every year. There will never be enough homes for them.
A preventive approach, through spaying and neutering pets, is the only effective and humane way to combat pet overpopulation and end the suffering/euthanasia of unwanted pets. Research has shown that as many as 80% of unwanted pets come from only 3% of households for whom spay/neuter is not affordable. A program similar to THE $20 FIX in another state reduced the euthanasia rate by 30% in just one year and by 75% after seven years!
Partnering with mobile spay/neuter unit POP-NC (Pet Overpopulation Patrol), applications are now being accepted for monthly visits to Roxboro. Applications are also available at various locations throughout Person County including Southern States Roxboro Service, located at 1112 North Main Street.

The sole focus of the Person County Animal Coalition for THE $20 FIX is preventing the birth of unwanted pets. Pet adoption, foster care, responsible pet ownership in general, and prevention of animal neglect-while very important related issues—are not the emphasis of the group's efforts.
