Stop the Deadly Cycle of Pet Overpopulation

AnimalKind® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Raleigh, NC. To learn more about our program see our mission below and visit our $20 FIX page.

The Crisis

Nearly 20,000 sheltered animals die as victims of pet overpopulation every year in our area. There will never be enough homes for them all.

Pet overpopulation is the leading killer of cats and dogs in our country. Each year, over four million sheltered animals are euthanized to make room for more.

Prevention is the only way to stop the deadly cycle of pet overpopulation.

Research indicates that 80% of pet overpopulation comes from as few as 3% of pet owners who can't afford the cost of spay/neuter surgery.

Our Mission

In direct response to this reality, AnimalKind launched THE $20 FIX Program, a targeted financial assistance program serving low-income pet owners. More than 7000 pets have already been spayed or neutered for a client copay of $20 or less, and hundreds more have been approved for surgeries. We need your help to continue!

AnimalKind recognizes that the pet overpopulation crisis can’t be “fixed” easily or quickly. But our targeted financial assistance program addresses the very source of the crisis that is killing tens of thousands of pets in the Triangle every year.
